IRELAND: The Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) is to auction of a genuine Rolex seized in 2012 in an online auction tomorrow.
CAB will use the online auction site, eBay to sell the Daytona timepiece that is expected to make around €76,000.
The news comes on the same day that a CAB report shows that they returned more than €7.2 million to the Exchequer in 2012.
Almost €5 million of that total came direct from criminal activity. The rest from Revenue and social welfare provisions.
Commenting on the report, released today, Justice Minister, Alan Shatter said: "Again we see the considerable powers of the Criminal Assets Bureau being brought to bear on those who seek to live off the ill-gotten gains of criminal activity".
The watch is to go on sale on eBay from tomorrow afternoon until 20 April under item number 141250241133 with the seller name 'proceedsofcrimeact1996'
