Bord Gáis Energy are to cut their prices for both gas and electricity from mid March. That could mean a reduction of over €54 on a household energy bill
Bord Gais has announced plans to cut both gas and electricity prices to the consumer from March 16th. The energy company said gas prices would drop by 3.5% while electricity would see a drop of 2.5%. This would mean a saving on a household energy of over €50.
Chief Operating Officer, Dave Kirwan said Bord Gais are constantly reviewing pricing to make offer the consumer the best value and help manage their bills.
The decrease was also welcomed by Energy Minister, Alex White who will be meeting shortly with the chief executives of all the main suppliers to make sure that wholesale price reductions are being passed on to the customer.
"This is a very welcome development and I hope to see other energy suppliers follow suit," the Minister said.
