BART Unveil their new design train carriage to the San Francisco public
|
BART (Bay Area Rapid Transport) unveiled their new design train carriage. The carriages will be phased into their existing fleet from 2017.
Although reception of the design was mostly positive, disability groups such as the Independent Living Resource Center( Jessie Lorenz) voiced concerns over some design features. A decrease of wheelchair space and and inclusion of a vertical floor to ceiling pole (between left and right side doors) could make access difficult for people in wheelchairs, especially on a crowded train. BART say that the design was worked and agreed on by taking concerns from all members and groups in the communities of the Bay Area that BART serves. |

Audio test and comparison of the Rhode Smart-Lav lavalier microphone
Cost me $58 and I wanted to test the quality in comparison with the audio from my Canon Rebel T3i and my Zoom H4N.
It's not the best quality, but for the price its a very viable alternative for the budget conscious video or audio producer. |

They marched from the Civic Center, down Market Street towards the Ferry Building. A contingent of pro-choice demonstrators were also present along the route of the march. The day passed off relatively peacefully thanks to the San Francisco Police Department. The second video shows a moment where the pro-life and pro-choice groups faced-off over a security fence and manned by officers of the San Francisco Police Department. The pro-choice campaigners chanted and held banners that read..."Abortion on demand and without apology". |

Oliver Williams talks about what makes Twist a successGalway business man, Oliver Williams runs Twist Soup Kitchen in the city. He has also opened similar outlets in Athlone, Roscommon and Sligo.
Williams is currently in talks with planning officials from Galway City Council relating to a planning submission for the change-of-use of his Galway kitchen from a garage/warehouse to a food kitchen. The planning decision has been further postponed until Williams complies with other planning regulation concerns, including the provision of a disabled toilet, installation of extraction ventilation and removal of external neon signage. He says: "The day will come when we will see a soup kitchen in every large town in Ireland". He said the general consensus is that City planner's are just bullying Twist and being picky, because they think a soup kitchen lowers the tone of the area. |
