![]() OAKLAND - An Oakland man pleaded guilty yesterday in the federal court to five counts of bank robbery and a further two counts of attempted bank robbery. Amanuel Moreno, confessed to robbing branches of Bank of the West, Wells Fargo and and the U.S. Bank on five separate occasions, while he also confessed to attempted robberies at two separate branches of Chase Bank. Moreno, 21, was arrested on January 25 this year and remained in local custody pursuant of a probation violation. He has been in federal custody since July 5. His sentencing hearing is now scheduled for February 6 in Oakland. Moreno could face up to 20 years behind bars for each count of robbery and attempted robbery following his guilty plea.
